In Memoriam
William “Bill” Henry Harrison Jr.
(October 4, 1948 – May 8, 2021)
Many of you will be aware of the sad news of the passing of Bill Harrison, founder of Harrison Design. This memoriam is a thank you to Bill for his enthusiastic support of The Lutyens Trust America from its inception. As a longstanding fan of Lutyens’s architecture, Bill not only became a Founding Member of our organization, but funded our Atlanta launch party and subsequent lectures. His first question was always, “What can I do to help?”
A graduate in Architecture of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Bill supported numerous educational initiatives at Georgia Tech as well as serving on the Advisory Board for the institution and endowing the William H. Harrison Chair in the School of Architecture. Bill Harrison was a dynamic figure within his community, participating and supporting not only The Lutyens Trust America, but also the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art, the Atlanta Rotary Club, The Buckhead Coalition, Chastain Park Conservancy, Design Leadership Network, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, The National and Georgia Trusts for Historic Preservation, the University of Miami School of Architecture Advisory Board, and the America Institute of Architects. He is survived by his wife, Andrea; his sons, Maverick and James and their mother Deborah, his stepdaughters, Julia and Ellie.
Bill’s enthusiasm and zest for life will be sorely missed.
