Members of The Lutyens Trust America were invited to the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sir Edwin Lutyens. The Embassy is the only major built work in the United States designed by Lutyens. An afternoon tour of the embassy building and grounds was followed with a very special dinner in the Residence. Everyone at the dinner was presented with a commemorative program and a model of the Cenotaph, as this year also marks the 100th anniversary of this design.

Two days after the events at the British Embassy, The Lutyens Trust played host to a lecture by Clive Aslet in New York. Approximately a hundred people attended the reception and lecture held at the Abigail Adams Smith Auditorium. Clive expanded on his talk at the embassy, ending with an insightful look at Lutyens’s place within the cadre of British architects.

Carl Laubin honored at the 2019 Driehaus Awards, in part for his capriccio of 149 built and unbuilt works by Edwin Lutyens, entitle Metiendo Vivendum after Lutyens's personal motto.
