GUESTS AT WEST COAST LAUNCH PARTY
CANDIA & MARTIN SPEAKING AT WEST COAST LAUNCH PARTY
In October, The Lutyens Trust America made its first foray into the West Coast with a lovely evening party on the terrace of the Gamble House in Pasadena, California. The Gamble House (1908), by architects Charles and Henry Greene) is one of the premier examples of American Arts and Crafts architecture. After greetings on the front porch, guests were able to tour the house and ask questions of the volunteer docents stationed in each of the rooms. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres were available on the back terrace. Our welcome to the house by Ted Bosley, the Director of the Gamble House, was followed by an introduction to the Lutyens Trust America by Executive Director Robin Prater. Candia Lutyens and Martin Lutyens both gave brief but very entertaining talks about Edwin Lutyens. Upwards to eighty people attended the event. In addition to Martin and Candia, Martin’s wife Beatriz and sons Marcos and Dominic also attended the launch, as well as Marcos’s wife, Yi-Ping and son Jasper. Thank you to Ted Bosley and his staff for hosting us.
